Recurring income vs. spending

Add recurring income like your salary to Mili, see what share of it goes to subscriptions, and match planned income with what actually arrives.

Recurring Income and Income vs. Subscriptions in the Annual Statement are part of Mili Pro.

Add recurring income

Open Recurring Income (⌘7) in the sidebar or choose File > Add Recurring Income…, then fill in the details:

  • Name: For example, salary or rental income.
  • Category, Amount per Payment, Currency, and Deposit Method.
  • Schedule: Monthly, Every 2 Weeks, Weekly, Quarterly, Yearly, or One-Time. You can also make it repeat every few periods.
  • First Payment: Mili uses this to work out the date of the next payment. If you’re paid at the end of the month (on the 31st, say), payments in shorter months fall on the last day of the month.
  • Has End Date: For income that stops at some point, like a contract that runs out, turn this on and enter the date of the last payment.
  • Include in Totals: When it’s off, payments from today on no longer count toward the annual comparison or To Confirm. Past payments are still projected as before.

How much of your income goes to subscriptions

The top of the Recurring Income page shows Monthly Income, Share of Income, and Left Over per Month.

Annual comparison

Income vs. Subscriptions in the Annual Statement compares your recurring income and subscription spending month by month across the year, and calculates Annual Income, Subscription Cost, Left Over, and Share of Income.

Both sides are plans projected from their schedules, not money actually received or charged. For the income and expenses you’ve actually recorded, see Cash Flow.

Connect it to your ledger

When a recurring income payment comes due, it appears in To Confirm. Once you confirm it, it’s recorded as an income entry using that income’s Category and Deposit Method. See To Confirm.
