How to view and cancel App Store subscriptions on Mac and iPhone
You can view and cancel every subscription you bought through Apple in one place on your Mac or iPhone. Here’s how, plus what to know before you cancel.
Every subscription you buy through the App Store — whether it’s a membership inside an app or one of Apple’s own services, like iCloud+ or Apple Music — can be viewed and canceled in the same place.
On your Mac
Using the App Store:
- Open the App Store.
- Click your name in the bottom-left corner.
- Click Account Settings. If asked, sign in with your Apple Account.
- Next to Subscriptions, click Manage.
- Click Edit next to the subscription you want to cancel, then click Cancel Subscription.
Using System Settings: Open System Settings, click your name, then click Media & Purchases. Click Manage next to Subscriptions, then follow the same steps as above.
On iPhone and iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Choose the subscription you want to cancel, then tap Cancel Subscription.
If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, the subscription has already been canceled, and the page shows the date it expires.
What to know before you cancel
- Cancel at least 24 hours ahead: App Store subscriptions renew and charge you automatically within the 24 hours before the current period ends. To avoid the next charge, it’s best to cancel at least a day in advance.
- You can use it until the period ends: Canceling only turns off automatic renewal. You can keep using what you’ve already paid for until the end of the current period.
- Be careful canceling during a free trial: With some apps, canceling during a trial ends the trial right away.
- Can’t find a subscription? It may not have been bought through Apple — for example, if you subscribed with a credit card on the service’s website, or through a payment service like PayPal or Alipay. In that case, you need to cancel it on that website or service. It may also have been bought with a different Apple Account.
- Want a refund? You can request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Whether you get a refund is up to Apple.
Beyond the App Store
The App Store only covers subscriptions bought through Apple. Memberships you signed up for directly on a service’s website, services billed straight to your credit card, and auto-renewals on all kinds of other platforms are scattered elsewhere.
Mili brings all your subscriptions together. No matter where you bought them or what currency you pay in, you can add them all. Mili reminds you before each charge, and the Annual Statement shows how much you spent in total over the year. After you cancel a subscription, mark it as canceled in Mili, and its past spending stays in your Annual Statement.
